Alzahrani to Okaz: Gangrene irks diabetic foot patients

Professor of Surgery, Consultant of  Vascular Surgery and the supervisor of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hussein Al Amoudi chair for diabetic foot research in King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Hassan bin Ali Al-Zahrani, that the occurrence of diabetic foot in patients with diabetes is not a rare case, and that half of diabetic patients suffering from diabetic foot without feeling reality, indicating that the incidence of complications may require amputation in many cases.

Zahrani said, via phone with Okaz newspaper: «gangrenous foot caused by diabetes is one of the most important causes of amputation, and we can prevent it from happening through close monitoring and control of diabetes and foot care.
